NLC suspends planned strike, as FG agrees to pay 30,000

The Nigerian labour Congress, NLC has called of its planned strike, which was supposed

 to take effect as from today.

According to vanguard news, the committee set up by the FG has concluded on N30,000 as the new minimum wage.
During the meeting, two figures were put forward, which are 24,000 which was suggested by the FG and the 30,000 by labour.

The chairperson of the committee, and former Head of civil service of the Federation, Ms Ama People said that these figures will be sent to the President for deliberation.

On the part of labour, the minister of labour and employment, Chris Ngige has said that labour was working to secure an appointment with the President, Muhammad Buhari and that the resolution's will be sent to the Federal executive council, and then the national economic council, and the national council of State after which an executive bill will be passed to the national Assembly.
