Video: In polling unit in Delta State, voters resort to manual casting of vote due to card reader failure

The Nigeria presidential election which took place today, in all polling units all over Nigeria was rather uncoordinated. Despite the one week delay, which was due to INEC's inability to distribute electoral materials, the level of disorganisation in the electoral process is still overwhelming.
In particular, in Isoko South local government of Delta state, Irri ward 2, the electoral materials arrived the polling centre, Eto grammar school at exactly 11:00am.

On the arrival of the materials, the representatives of various units however saw that the materals were incomplete which made the team of INEC representative return back to get all materials. The INEC representatives returned at about 12:10pm.

The INEC officials started setting up the polls, while voters hurried to queue up. It was almost perfect until the card readers refused to work. According to the INEC officials present, the card readers were having network issues.

This situation lingered until about 1:30pm, when the INEC officials received directives to carry out the voting manually. The voting exercise started, and at the end the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP won in polling unit, Irri ward 2.
